Please join us for a celebration that will feature poets Gregory Lawless, Anna Ross, and Jon D. Lee reading from their new books at the Suffolk Poetry Center on Wednesday, October 29th, at 7 pm. The Center is located on the 3rd floor of the Mildred F. Sawyer Library, at 73 Tremont Street, one block from Park Street T-stop. The entrance is around the corner on Tremont Place.
Gregory Lawless is the author I Thought I Was New Here (BlazeVOX, 2009) and Foreclosure (Back Pages Books, 2013). His poems have appeared in such places as sixth finch, La Petite Zine, Gulf Stream, The Journal, The National Poetry Review, Pleiades, and Third Coast.
Anna Ross is the author of If a Storm, winner of the Robert Dana-Anhinga Prize for Poetry. Her work has appeared in Barrow Street, Memorious, The Paris Review, The American Reader, Southern Poetry Review, and The Brooklyn Quarterly and received fellowships from the Squaw Valley Poetry Workshop, Sewanee Writers’ Conference, the Massachusetts Cultural Council, and Grub Street. She is an assistant poetry editor for Salamander Magazine and a poetry editor for Consequence Magazine.
Jon D. Lee is a folklorist, poet, and author who teaches literature and composition at various Boston-area universities and is always hard at work on the next project. His poems have been published in numerous journals and have been anthologized in Follow the Thread, and his work as a folklorist has recently resulted in An Epidemic of Rumors, a monograph on the role of disease narratives in outbreaks. When not writing, he can be found playing with his wife and three-year-old son, or hitting the running trails.
